Safeguarding
Safeguarding statement
ScreenMinded exists to help adults keep children and young people safer online. This statement sets out what that means in practice, and where our responsibility ends and yours begins.
Safeguarding: If a child is in immediate danger, call 999.
ScreenMinded is an educational resource. It is not a reporting service, a helpline or an advice line, and it does not take questions about individual children. Follow your organisation's safeguarding policy and speak to your designated safeguarding lead or manager.
It supports your procedures. It never replaces them.
Everything on ScreenMinded is written to sit alongside the statutory guidance and the policies your school or setting already works to. Where our materials and your procedures differ, your procedures take priority. Our training helps staff notice, ask, record and refer in line with those procedures; it does not change who is responsible for a decision.
What we do and do not claim
- We do not claim that GTA 6, or any game, causes harm. We describe the game as it has been officially announced, the kinds of situations that already arise around popular 18-rated games, and how to respond well.
- We never present an unconfirmed feature, rumour or clip as fact. Every GTA 6 fact in our materials is checked against an official source, labelled by how certain it is, and dated. Rumours are described only so that you can respond to them.
- We do not quote statistics or research findings unless the source is named and linked. Our scenarios are fictional and say so.
- We make no claim about outcomes. Completing ScreenMinded training does not make a child safe or discharge any duty; it helps the adults around them act with more confidence and consistency.
No children's information
ScreenMinded is written for adults, and access is for people aged 18 or over. No child's name or details should be entered anywhere on the site, including in the tools, the quick checks or any message to us. Our tools produce guidance for you to act on; they do not store information about a child on our servers.
How our content is checked
Each piece of content is published only once it has been signed off through our approval process, which records who reviewed it, in what capacity, and the exact version they approved. Any later change returns the content to draft until it is reviewed again. Game facts are re-checked when GTA 6 is released and when official information changes, and our safety updates say what changed and when.
Images and language
Illustrations on ScreenMinded are AI-generated educational images, labelled as such. None is official GTA 6 artwork, a screenshot or gameplay footage, and none depicts a real child. We use plain English, avoid gaming jargon where we can, and explain it where we cannot.
