About
About ScreenMinded
A UK-based independent digital safeguarding education platform. We help the adults around children and young people understand gaming and the wider digital world well enough to act with confidence.
Why ScreenMinded exists
Young people move between games, group chats, livestreams and social platforms, and the adults responsible for them are expected to keep up without clear, practical guidance. ScreenMinded turns that into plain-English training, realistic scenarios and tools you can use the same day.
Our first programme is built around Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6). We do not claim that GTA 6 causes harm. We explain what the game is, what has and has not been confirmed about it, the kinds of situations that already arise around popular 18-rated games, and how to respond well.
Who it is for
UK schools, residential care providers, and parents and carers.
- Schools: a six-part professional training for staff, with an assessment and a verifiable certificate, plus a five-part guide for the families they support.
- Residential care providers: a six-part training written for the realities of residential children's care, with an assessment and certificate.
- Parents and carers: a five-part guide with quick checks, written for adults who do not game.
ScreenMinded is written for adults. Access is for people aged 18 or over, and no child's details should ever be entered on the site.
One complete package
Every package includes the training for its audience and the four practical tools: Gaming Language Decoder, Check Your Child's Gaming Safety, Set Up Parental Controls, Manage Gaming Spending. GTA 6 Safety Updates and detailed safeguarding briefings are included too. There are no tiers and no monthly subscription.
Who is behind it
ScreenMinded was founded by Husaam. Husaam is a Project Manager in supported accommodation for young people, with safeguarding, exploitation, online safety and trauma-informed training experience.
How we work
- Checked, not guessed. Game facts are checked against official sources such as Rockstar Games, the ESRB and platform publishers, and each is labelled by how certain it is. Rumours are described only so you can respond to them.
- Reviewed before publication. Nothing reaches customers until it has been signed off through our content approval process.
- Supports, never replaces. ScreenMinded supports your organisation's safeguarding policies and procedures. It is not a reporting service and never a substitute for one. Read our safeguarding statement.
- Independent. ScreenMinded is not affiliated with or endorsed by Rockstar Games or Take-Two Interactive. Illustrations on the site are AI-generated and labelled as such; none is official game artwork.
